broken bits of authors

We bleed out onto pages and hope people appreciate our sacrifice.

Even if I dislike a character, I never bash the author. Why?

Because every character has little pieces of the author in them, broken off from their personality or favorite things and woven intricately into the character's personality.

I am no exception, so have a list of Ways I'm 100% The Same as My Main Girl Lada:

  • Is not the chosen one, a rebel, or a fighter.

If I was asked to be the chosen one, I would probably decline. I'm over here writing characters who aren't "boss babes" because I'm not.

  • Would rather make peace than endure conflict, but don't back that girl into a corner.

Listen, Lada and I would rather be at peace and postivity, but we've both been known to make threats when the moment calls for it. Don't bring the conflict to us, we'll stand our ground.

  • Would rather be barefoot.

Self-explanatory. Next.

  • Has been known to overlook (major) flaws in others because she wants to believe they're good people.

It can be painful in the end, but some girls just want to believe people are kind. We want to be forgiving, and we try our darnedest to embody that. Seeing the good doesn't make you weak, but it can present some dilemmas.

  • Is annoying to others (specifically My Main Man Davorin) because she is literally just being her happy self all the time.

Hey, be you. Your people will find you, even if they originally think you're annoying.

  • Is OBLIVIOUS to how to flirt.

Can't tell when people have a crush on me. Don't pick up on flirting. Neither does Lada.

Basically half the plot of Vol. II:

BONUS—Ways I'm Like Davorin Astrophel, Dragon Supreme:

  • "These people are saying many words, but nothing useful. Can they leave me alone now?"

Because sometimes even the sunshine has grumpy days 😂

Have a main character kind of day!
