I used to fret at night over whether everyone would love my writing. What if I said something that offended them? What if they hated that plot hole I remembered after I published it? What if they weren't romance people and they said horrible, horrible things about my romance plotline???
Needless to say, the nightly worrying was exhausting my energy.
Then, my dad's advice flitted through my head like freedom-inducing butterflies: "Some will. Some won't. So what?"
You see, the thing is, we're not all destined to reach everyone.
I truly believe there are people who resonate with me and people who don't.
Those who resonate are going to be all-in with me and my books and all the things I love to write about.
Those who don't resonate? They will probably walk away. Maybe talk behind my back about how "ridiculous" my stories are.
But SO WHAT?
Those aren't my people. MY people love romance and damsels in distress and soft girl eras and strong male leads.
MY people are *sat* for true love, intrigue, and epic rescues.
