fiasco fixed... i think...

Let the package tracking begin again.

After a brief conversation with a very helpful customer service tech, I have re-placed my order for my proof copy of A Tale of Blood and Blossoms, Vol II.

If all goes to plan, it SHOULD arrive before Thanksgiving!

So let's get down to business [to defeat the Huns].

Just kidding! Unless your book is actually about defeating the Huns, in which case I'm super proud of you for your courage.

I, on the other hand, am here to tell you about how bravery and perseverence are main themes in ATOBAB.

You see, when I was choosing who my main character would be, I didn't choose her for her physical strength. I also didn't choose my main male lead for his put-togetherness.

I chose Lada because she's soft, and in that lies her strength. She forgives too easily, sees everyone as a friend, and bears a naivete that is rare in today's world. I relate to her a lot, and I wanted other people like me to have a character they could look up to.

Because not all of us are Katniss or Arwen or that girl from the movie Damsel. (I only watched 6 minutes. I disliked all of them.)

Some of us are kind, quiet, and girlish.

As for Davorin Astrophel, Dragon Supreme? I picked him because he's flawed. He has decisions to make, character to build, and a personality that needs to be tamed.

He doesn't have it all together, but he isn't a complete mess either. (Okay, so he starts as a complete mess, but I promise he's competent.)

Some people need to know that redemption is fully possible for anyone, not just the "good peple".

So which are you? Flawed? Naive? In need of character development?

No matter which of these qualities you see in yourself, you'll see that reflected in A Tale of Blood and Blossoms, Vol. I.

That's what makes my characters relatable. Not because they're "strong" or "a hero", but because they're not. They're just like us.

So... you grab that and we'll wait for our packages together.
