Okay, hear me out.
I don't do sports. Like... at all. I'm much more a romance books and tea and maybe a nice constitutional if the weather is nice kind of girl.
Sports? What are those? Couldn't care less.
BUT PUT MY IN FRONT OF THE OLYMPICS, AND I BECOME A COMPETITIVE FIEND.
Makes sense. I am naturally competitive in games and cards and board games, etc. Just don't care about sports.
Until the Olympics start. Then... I am here for it.
Figure skating? I've suddenly been doing that all my life and know every verbiage.
Curling? In actuality, I've never played. But I'm SAT at that screen, anxiously hoping that stone makes it to the middle.
Snowboarding? Skiing? Biathlon? I crash-coursed how those work.
Why?
Because, for me, the Olympics aren't just "sports". They're an ✨experience✨.
I have a list of countries I root for if mine isn't playing while I'm watching. (Yes, they're numbered, and yes, they hold precedence.)
I keep track of the medal count.
For 2-4 weeks depending on the year, the Olympics kinda become my personality.
That's why I wrote A Tale of Blood and Blossoms the way I did. Because I want YOU to have an ✨experience✨.
It isn't just about reading a story. It's about discovering why characters are the way they are.
It's about what's said briefly, in that one narrative sentence. Or what's left unsaid that needs the blanks to be filled.
It's about a journey, a mending of hearts, and some misunderstandings. About healing, forgiveness, and love.
So PRE-ORDER part 2 of your experience:
This is a trilogy that's going to become your entire personality. I can feel it. You can feel it.
ATOBAB is my Olympics. And I'm so glad you're here joining me.
