Subtitle: too much info and not enough solid evidence.

Let's be real here, Reader. Everyone on the internet wants to tell you how to do your job.

I say one thing about how I'm an author and suddenly everyone has the "best" advice to give me.

AND ALL THE ADVICE CONTRADICTS EACH OTHER AND HAS TOO MUCH INFO AND SCIENCE-Y STUFF TO BACK IT UP!!!

It can be overwhelming. For sure. I hit my overwhelm wall this week and had to take a break from social media for a day to calm down.

Post more, post less. Write what you want, write what your readers want. No one will buy books off social media, everyone buys their books off social media... It's all subjective.

But lemme tell you what I've learned through the process...

When it really comes down to it, everything in life gets better when you're representing your best self.

It isn't about what other people think. It isn't about pleasing everyone. It's about being confident in who YOU are.

Do you love penguins and hate centipedes? Great. Say that!

Are you a closed-door reader only, or do you love some of the cringiest tropes? Me too!

Stop caring about view count, sales, or the comment section. (I'm trying to quit caring about those too. Let's journey it together.)

The thing about being yourself is that other people can tell. And people naturally like it when they see someone being real.

For me, being real meant admitting I love princess stories, cheesy romance, and the most distressed damsels.

A Tale of Blood and Blossoms, Vol I came from me being my most honest self. Purchase link time!

It isn't about pleasing everyone. It's about finding your vibe. (Don't @ me, you know it's true.)

Thanks for vibing with me!

Megan
